For the best weapons, though, you'll need to have good standing with the local faction. Stations will offer you better ships and weapons at higher license levels. Keep your eyes open as you explore the universe. Other options are left for you to explore.ĭifferent factions will offer you different missions at different stations. You can increase your character stats by completing missions, hunting bots, or trading cargo between stations. Here are the current tips from the loading screen. The community is in general very helpful. Mining stations offer a tutorial for mining. If you want to know what's in an asteroid before you start mining, you need a mining scanner as well. The mining beam works like a continuous laser, and you click to turn it on or off. Target it (press B) and get within 100m of it. To mine an asteroid, you need to have a mining beam on your ship. In gray space they are often pirate that will attack you if you get too close.ĩ. ![]() While they may occasionally have something useful to say when hailed, they usually don't make good conversation partners. Names with * in front of them are robots or NPCs. Anything you have targeted will show its name and distance in the upper-right corner of your screen.Ĩ. Alternately, hit the U key to show everyone in your sector. You can only select things within 3000m of yourself. Point at something and press B to target it, or hit X to select the closest hostile target (if there is one). Left is a 180-degree arc in front of you. ![]() You have two radars on the bottom of your screen. However, the systems closest to the nation capitols are safer than the grey systems.ĥ. You CAN be attacked by other players at anytime and in any sector. Everywhere else is grey, and is very dangerous for new players. Serco space is red on the map, Itani space is blue, UIT space is yellow. Sectors with wormholes are marked on your map with a blue swirly thing. Sectors with stations are marked on your map with an S. Each system has 256 sectors, laid out on a 16x16 grid. The universe is made up of 30 systems connected by wormholes. ![]() Note that this uses up energy, which then takes a little while to recharge. To join another channel, type /join X where X is the number of the channel you wish to join. Vendetta's chat takes place in IRC-like channels.
